Chocolate Buttercream Icing
The BEST Chocolate buttercream recipe, perfect on cakes, cupcakes or brownies!
Preparation Time – 10 minutes
Cooking Time – 5 minutes
Makes – 10-12 cupcakes or 1 x 20cm cake
- 100g Homecook Wonder Bar Milk Chocolate
- 200g butter, softened
- 400g icing sugar
- 5 tbsp coca powder
- 2tbsp milk
- Break chocolate into a microwave proof bowl, melt in the microwave on high, stirring every 30 secs. Leave the melted chocolate to cool for 5 mins.
- Combine the butter and icing sugar with a fork first, then using an electric beat for 2-3 minutes until well combined. Sift in the cocoa and pour in the melted chocolate, a pinch of salt and the milk, then mix again on a high speed for another 2-3 minutes until a thick and smooth chocolate mixture has formed. Use to top cupcakes, brownies or cover and fill a chocolate sponge cake.
